Explore All the Exciting Features of the New Hyundai Santa Fe at Shoreline Hyundai

The Hyundai Santa Fe is one of the leading midsize SUVs for families. It has two rows of seating for a total capacity of five people, plus plenty of room for cargo. It has an appealing group of features and strong fundamentals that make it perfect for families who need a reliable and spacious SUV that gives them a lot for their money. On this page, you can learn the details of what makes the Santa Fe an appealing buy and why families love it.

New in 2023

The 2023 Santa Fe remains mostly unchanged, overall, but Hyundai has moved some of the standard features around the trim lineup. For example, the Santa Fe SEL now comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and 10.3-inch touchscreen display standard. The front fascia also receives an update for the new model year, but one of the most impressive newly standard features is the puddle lamps that help you find your way into the SUV safely by lighting up the area around the doors.

Performance

There are two engines for the Santa Fe. The base is an I4 rated for 191 horsepower with an automatic transmission. It's a straightforward engine that feels good around the city. Higher trim levels offer an upgraded I4 engine, which adds a turbocharger and reaches 281 horsepower. That's a big increase that feels much more powerful and dynamic. The Santa Fe's gas mileage is excellent for a midsize SUV, with 28 highway mpg and 25 city mpg on the base engine. The more powerful engine is a little less efficient, as is all-wheel drive, but this is to be expected.

Tech and Safety

The tech package on the Santa Fe is engaging and appealing. It has a touchscreen eight inches across and the wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. It has four USB ports and Bluetooth®, as well, providing you with more ways to connect. The interface on the touchscreen is clear and easy to use, and there are lots of physical controls for people who prefer them. An even larger screen, onboard navigation and lots more features are also available as part of packages and higher trim levels.

Many advanced safety and driver-assist features come standard, including:

  • Lane Following Assist
  • Driver Attention Warning
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist
  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian, Cyclist and Junction-Turning Detection

Trim Levels

There are five trims for the Santa Fe. The first three trim levels have the base engine, while the top two have the upgraded engine. The base trim, the SE, is quite generous compared to the competition, making it a good choice for any buyer looking for a high-value ride. Two trims with the upgraded engine, the Limited and Calligraphy, both offer a very full set of upgrades. The Calligraphy trim has exclusive Nappa leather upholstery and a Head-Up Display for a relatively small price increase over the Limited trim.
